Insemination of Mares with Frozen Semen

In Spring 2025, the Status-Victoria Breeding Center invites mare owners to bring their mares for insemination using frozen semen from stallions.
Insemination is carried out by experienced specialists with many years of successful practice. Since 2018, the stud farm has exclusively worked with frozen semen from stallions, achieving a pregnancy rate of over 80%, with three consecutive years reaching a 100% pregnancy rate in mares.

How the service works:

• A mandatory preliminary consultation with one of our specialists.
• Selection of semen for insemination – this can either be from the Status-Victoria Lab sperm bank or semen doses provided by the mare owner.
• If semen needs to be imported from Europe, the decision to proceed with insemination and purchase the semen from the chosen stallion must be made no later than February 15 of the current year.
• The semen dose is paid for prior to insemination.
• The mare must be delivered to the station for insemination between March 20 and May 15.

• The mare is placed in the stable for care. The duration of the stay depends on the phase of the cycle in which the mare arrives and the result of the insemination. The cost of care is the equivalent of 400 EUR per month.
• The insemination process includes ultrasound monitoring of heat, detection of ovulation, artificial insemination, hormonal regulation if necessary, additional vitaminization, and early pregnancy diagnosis.
• Consumables, additional veterinary medications, semen storage, and other related costs are included in the price.
• The cost of the insemination service is the equivalent of 700 EUR. This includes two insemination cycles.
• On the thirteenth day after insemination, an ultrasound examination is conducted. If an embryo is detected, the mare may leave the insemination station. If no embryo is found, the cycle needs to be repeated.

Payment: The payment for services is due upon the mare’s arrival at the insemination station. All financial risks are borne by the client.
